Number plates rarely fall off.
But when they do, almost no one
gets them back.

Finders and owners never cross paths — no shared list, no way to connect. FindsBin is the missing link: register once, and if your plate is ever found, we text you the finder's contact instantly.

Found a number plate on the road?

How FindsBin works

Think of it as a safety net you set up once and forget — until the day you need it.

1

You register your plate today

Enter your plate number and phone number. Done. Your plate is now protected in our system.

2

Someone finds your plate

A good samaritan picks it up and reports it on FindsBin. We match it to your registration instantly.

3

You get an SMS, collect your plate

We send you the finder's contact. You call them directly, meet up, and get your plate back.

Why register before it's too late

Protection before you need it

Once your plate is lost, it's too late to register. Like insurance — you set it up before the accident.

Skip the Facebook search

No more posting on matatu groups hoping someone spotted your plate. We match it automatically.

Avoid police trouble

Driving without a plate is a problem. The faster you recover it, the less time you're exposed.

Save on replacement costs

A replacement plate from NTSA costs money and takes time. Recovering the original costs nothing.

Bridging the gap between lost and found

Every day, hundreds of number plates are lost on Kenyan roads. Owners post in Facebook groups hoping someone sees their plea. Finders post photos of plates they've picked up, hoping the owner scrolls past.

Instant matching

No more waiting for Facebook shares. FindsBin matches found plates to owners in seconds.

Direct SMS notification

We text both parties immediately. No intermediaries, no delays — just a direct connection.

Faster recovery

Get your plate back within hours, not days. Finders report it once, you're notified instantly.

Safety reminder

Stay safe when collecting your plate

Most finders are good people — but a quick handover in the right place keeps everyone comfortable.

Meet in a public place

A petrol station, supermarket entrance, or busy shopping centre — somewhere with people around.

Go during daylight hours

Arrange collection in the morning or afternoon. Avoid late-night meetups, especially in unfamiliar areas.

Bring someone with you

Take a friend or family member along, especially if it's your first time meeting the finder.

Never pay in advance

Only hand over any goodwill gesture once you have your plate in hand. Never send money beforehand.

Verify it's your plate

Check the number matches before accepting. If anything feels off, trust your instincts and leave.

Tell someone where you're going

Let a trusted contact know the location and time of your meetup before you head out.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need to register before my plate is lost?

When a plate falls off your car and someone finds it, they report it to FindsBin. We then search our database to find the owner and send them an SMS. If you haven't registered yet, we have no way to reach you — the plate just sits in our system unclaimed. Registering now means we can act the moment someone finds yours.

Is FindsBin free?

Yes. Registering your plate on FindsBin is completely free. There are no hidden charges, no subscriptions, and no fees to receive your SMS notification.

What happens to my phone number and personal data?

Your phone number is only used to notify you when your plate is found. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. When a finder reports your plate, we share your number with them only so they can arrange a handover — and vice versa.

Can I register more than one plate?

Absolutely. If you own more than one vehicle, just submit a registration for each plate. Use the same phone number if you like — we'll notify you regardless of which plate is found.

What if someone already found my plate before I registered?

Register now anyway. If a found plate was reported before your registration, our system will attempt a retroactive match and notify you. The sooner you register, the better your chances.

How will I be notified when my plate is found?

We send you an SMS to the phone number you registered with. The message includes the finder's contact so you can reach them directly and arrange to collect your plate.

I found a plate on the road — what do I do?

Use the "Report a found plate" option on this page. Enter the plate number, where you found it, and your phone number. We'll search our database and notify the owner to contact you directly. It's a good deed that takes under a minute.
